What does Ballerz teach?

What makes Ballerz Stand out from other Skills clinics?

Choosing the right stick is always important. The stick you chose varies depending on Age and position. If you son is in 2nd-4th grade they will use a short stick which is a 30in shaft length. Once your son is 5th grade and up defenders can now use a longer stick know as a long pole. These Sticks for 5th & 6th grade can measure in at 5FT when the Head is attached to the Shaft. Once they are in 7th grade and older a Long Pole will measure in at 6FT roughly with the Head Attached to the Shaft. If your son is a Goalie they can use any length Shaft, a 30in or 34in shaft is recommended. (Reference to this video for more information https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9PvDh5sEV0 )

Ballerz Practices are once a week always on the same day for 1 hour. Depending on the length of the session they will last 4-6 weeks long.

Ballerz is played in the rain. Lacrosse is played in the rain, even if it’s more than a light drizzle. We cancel class due to thunder and lightning for safety reasons. The only other time class is cancelled is if the field is closed by the Town. We will notify you before class, over email and Text if class is cancelled. If you don’t receive anything from us class is on for that day.

Yes, Ballerz is a great fit for beginners! During our Ballerz classes we split the players first by age, then Skill. This way players can play with players of similar Skill level and our coaches can coach on the correct level for each player. Along with that our Ballerz class are smaller than our Scoops classes, which allows our coaches to give more 1 on 1 time with every player. So even beginners can learn Lacrosse and the more advanced skills they will need to be able to have fun and be successful in their town programs.

Ballerz teaches players many skills. Depending how many weeks the session is will Vary how many different skills are covered. Some Skills your son will work on are shooting form for speed and accuracy, shooting on the run downhill and from X, Shooting in tight around the crease and finishing, Different dodges such as Roll dodge, Face dodge, split dodge, Question Mark, Combination dodges, Along with how to read a defender to select the best dodge. They will also learn 1 on 1 defensive skills, how to check properly, how to play team defense and slide properly and when. They will also learn how to take faceoffs and the different moves.

What makes Ballerz different from other Skills clinics is we select the most fun and captivating drills to teach players skills, we try to stay away from the unengaging Line drills. We believe players will only learn new skills if they are captivated and having fun in what they are doing. If we need to do line drills, we try and make them unique, so players stay engaged during them, this way they will get more out of them rather than if they are just going through the motions.
